Contents | The course will address three teaching units divided into theoretical lessons, application exercises and periodic reviews: - Foundations of descriptive geometry and methods of representation; - Institutional forms of architectural design - Foundations of building design The course also intends to introduce computer-aided design through the improvement in the use of specific 2D and 3D drawing software. |

Educational objectives | Knowledge of the methods of representation, of the norms and of the graphic codes for the architectural design, ability to manage the form from the ideational stage to its representation. The main objective of the course is to favor the development of design as an architectural form of thought. In this sense, the course aims to provide the ability to transpose three-dimensional entities in two-dimensional representations and vice versa, and to weld the theoretical concepts, which form the basis of the design, to its practical implementation, in order to allow management, concept and cognitive, of the processes of transformation / conservation of architectural and environmental reality. In this sense it is useful that the student possesses the basic knowledge acquired at the high school concerning Euclidean geometry and design and is familiar with the personal computer. |
Prerequisites | |
Teaching methods | The course will address the teaching units divided into theoretical lessons, application exercises and periodic reviews. - Theoretical lessons and practical exercises - Seminars |
Other information | |
Learning verification modality | During the course, the student will have to produce around 30 tables in A3 format (traditional drawing) and some drawings (digital drawing) which will cover specific topics related to drawing, architectural survey and design. These papers will be subject to review and evaluation and the final exam will consist of an oral test (about 30 minutes) that will focus on the course program and the discussion of the works produced by the student. |
Extended program | Prolusion - Purposes and tools of representation Introduction - Theory of digital drawing classroom exercise (SketchUp) Common genesis of parallel and central projections - Methods of representation classroom exercise (CAD) Elementary graphic constructions classroom exercise (CAD) Archi - Graphic rules and conventions for drawing classro Rules and graphic conventions for drawing classroom exercise (CAD) Monge's orthogonal projections - Conicles classroom exercise (CAD) Measure and proportion - Orthogonal and oblique axonometry classroom Axonometries - Conventional magnification - Times - The classical order classroom exercise (furnishings and minimal spaces) Pavilion roof - Indirect perspective classroom exercise (furnishings and minimal spaces) Direct perspective - Freehand sketch clas Perspective with a slanted frame class Representation of the territory classroom exercise (Rhinoceros, 3dstudio) Building type classroom exercise - review |
