Instructor: Prof. Dr. Marco Breccolotti

Description:

The course is aimed at providing students information and tools to:

  • Perform risk analisys of simple civil engineering structures and evaluate the risk of a system using relevant techniquesand criteria.
  • Perform reliability calculations at the element level, using relevant techniques, such as level III, II, I methods.
  • Understand the main safety concepts behind structural design codes (eurocode) and derive deisgn values for load and strenght for civil engineering structures.

The course is organized in three sections for a total of 18 hours (3 CFU). classroom exercises will be developed to better understand the design techniques address in the theoretical part of the program.
