| Erica Cernuto Thesis project title: Landslide interacting with viaducts: a combined approach based on InSAR data and geomechanics models abstract: Italy, due to its complex geological configuration, has historically been subject to a high density of landslides, which make the territory particularly vulnerable to slope instability from both natural and anthropogenic influences. Road infrastructures, such as bridges, are particularly exposed to these phenomena, which can severely damage their structural components ([1], [2], [3]). Such damage can cause displacements or rotations of the substructures, leading to significant deterioration. In the most extreme cases, these events can result in the complete collapse of the entire deck ([4], [5]). Moreover, landslides pose a particularly dangerous threat because of their often-unpredictable nature, linked to the complexity of the factors that trigger them and the possibility of occurring without warning signs. The correlation between the type of landslide phenomenon and the damage to the structure is not always easy to determine, because landslides vary in volume, type of movement, material, and orientation [6]. In some cases, landslides impact the viaduct in the longitudinal direction, while in other cases, transversely [7]. Currently, there are no univocal models capable of accurately simulating the structural response to different types of interactions. |

| Andrea Migliosi Thesis project title: The Chiascio Dam and its Reservoir: Analysis, Models and Scenarios for the Development of the Internal Areas abstract: The main focus of the research is the case study of Valfabbrica Lake, an artificial Umbrian basin whose unfinished evolution has generated a condition of functional, identity and perceptive suspension. The project proposes an experimental methodology that integrates interdisciplinary landscape reading tools, AI-based simulation devices and visual co-design practices, aimed at exploring new models of interaction between community and landscape through representation. Generative Artificial Intelligence is investigated in its role as a critical and speculative mediator, capable of generating design scenarios capable of giving citizens an active role in the imagination and construction of the territory. The research, of transdisciplinary matrix, thus intends to contribute to the definition of a contemporary paradigm in which aesthetics, the right to landscape and artificial intelligence converge in innovative tools for the governance of places. |
