From June 25 to July 2, the PhD course "Advanced reliability topics in structural engineering" will be held, hosted by Prof. A.S. Nowak from Auburn University in Auburn (USA).
Among his major achievements are: development of a reliability-based calibration procedure for calculating load and resistance factors in the AASHTO design code for bridges, ACI code 318 for concrete buildings, the Canadian highway bridge design code, and the British standard BS-5400.
