Franco DOMINICI

Curriculum

Short Bio

Franco Dominici obtained the International PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a thesis on high performance fiber-reinforced and nanostructured composites. He graduated in Industrial Engineering with a thesis on thermoplastic composites. He had a bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering with a thesis on nano-filled paints and coatings. He is author of over 50 scientific articles and reviewer for international peer reviewed journals. He has co-directed and reviewed numerous degree and doctoral theses. He has presented oral communications and posters at international conferences (9 th AIP, 6 th I+D+i - EPSA, 4 th BIOPOL, 3 rd SYMP.
FPS, etc.). He collaborates with the National Inter-university Consortium of Science and Technology of
Materials INSTM, with the European Center for Nanostructured polymers ECNP and with the Materials,
Design & Processing MDP. He participated in the technical staff of the European projects: MULTIHYBRIDS, POCO, COMPNANOCOMP, ECNP-GROWTH, HIVOCOMP, HIFIVENT, POLYMAGIC, BARBARA. He took part in industrial research and development projects with national and international companies (Samsung, FIAT, Brembo, Beaulieu, Novamont, Meraklon, Tarkett Sommer, Bayer Sheet, Cozzani, ICA, etc.). Dominici has decades of proven experience in the development, production, testing of traditional and nanostructured
polymers and composite materials. The main research interests in the field of materials are: biopolymers; composites and nanocomposites; polymer processing; (reactive) extrusion of thermoplastics; natural plastics from renewable and eco-sustainable sources; bio nano-fillers; high performance polymers and composites reinforced with nano-structured fibers; bioengineering and shape memory materials; intelligent materials for active packaging.
