Short Bio

Marco Rallini graduated cum laude in Materials Engineering at University of Perugia in 2009. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering and Innovative Materials in 2013. In 2008 he obtained the title of Specialist in Metallurgical Techniques after a working period at ThyssenKrupp - Acciai Speciali Terni. In 2009 he attended the Steelmaster at ICSIM Franco Momigliano. Now he is a research fellow at University of Perugia. His research topics concern the development and characterization of composite and nano-composite materials. He is actually involved in the development of high-temperature resistant composite materials and conductive composite materials based on polymeric and concrete matrices. During the PhD period he acquired the skills and competences for the development and characterization of composites and nanocomposites based on polymeric matrices; he is principally skilled on the production of fiber reinforced composites (liquid molding techniques, hand lay-up techniques) based on thermosetting matrices, elastomeric based composites (single screw extrusion, calendering)  and on the characterization of composites and nanocomposites in terms of: mechanical properties (tensile, flexural, compression, hardness, nano-hardeness, scratch test), thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermo- and dynamic mechanical analysis (TMA, DMA), scanning electron microscopy.
